Kumar THAPA

Kumar Thapa, a former Nepali footballer, had a distinguished career both as a player and coach. He represented Nepal's senior national team from 1997 to 2005, earning 35 caps, and captained Manang Marshangdi Club to three league titles and numerous national club tournament victories. His exceptional skills on the field earned him awards such as Best Player of the League and Man of the Match during club competitions.

Transitioning into coaching, Thapa obtained an AFC 'A' Coaching Certificate and FIFA Grassroots instructor qualification. He served as the Head Coach of the Nepal National Women's Team from May 2016 to 2018 and again in May 2022 for the 4th SAFF Championship. Internationally, he represented Nepal in various prestigious tournaments, including the SAFF Championship, Asian Games, South Asian Games, Asian Cup Qualification, Olympic Games Qualifying Round, and FIFA World Cup Qualifying Round.

In terms of education, Thapa holds a Bachelor's Degree in Law from Kathmandu, Nepal, and a Masters in International Players UEFA MIP (Masters Degree in Football Management UEFA / CDES / Birbeck). His impressive career was marked by his playing and coaching achievements as well as accolades, including the Best Midfielder award and a medal from the King.
